New bag

I know this is sooo not exciting to most, but to me it is. I got this cute little bag at Eddie Bauer yesterday for trips.

I have this little Jansport mini crossbody backpack that I take on all our trips and it's great for hiking, going to amusement parks, golfing...really whatever. The only problem is that it doesn't have any organization pockets. I plan on keeping it because it's so helpful. We took it to Disney with us and it was awesome. It's lightweight, can hold a lot and just slings around your back. I don't even remember when or where I got it, but again it doesn't have the organization pockets. *I have to explain this as I did to my husband because he didn't see the practicality in buying it. Hahaha.

OK so my new little bag has a front lift up pocket to put slim, flat things in. Then a front zipper pocket FULL of organization pockets and a big mesh interior pocket. He has a clip for keys and lots of pockets of various sizes. Then a second zipper opens to a much larger pouch for water, snacks, my camera and so on. Then it has a cell phone case on the side with a lock in strap! I know I'm a nerd, but I'm excited about it. It's lightweight like the other one and slings across my chest and back. A benefit to this one may be that it doesn't sit on my back and won't be as hot. I'm going to take it to Mexico with us in July and to the river in June. I think it will be super useful for traveling, sightseeing, hiking, etc. Well I think that's the extent of some of my nerdiness. Well that and I got it on sale. Imagine that.

We wish you a Merry Christmas

This year was our first Christmas married. It was so wonderful. We spent the night of the 23rd at my mom's. Christmas Eve we went to Tony's parent's house and had a really good time. Steak and potatoes for dinner that was to die for, church and then we opened presents. Tony got some more tools which was very needed and we got our ottoman trays I've been wanting from Crate and Barrel. I was soo excited. We got some more of our fiesta ware and a beautiful frame along with a lot of other things. It was a nice Christmas with his family. Christmas morning we woke up and did our stockings and "Santa" presents. Haha Tony was insistent that we have Santa gifts. I got a red leather fossil tote for work - absolutely gorgeous and he got a Kenneth Cole black jacket, which was too small so we had to send it back :( I was sad. **However I found basically the same jacket at Macys.com for the same price the day after Christmas and ordered it. We opened presents and made pancakes for dinner. We used our new griddle! Super cool. Tony also got me a really nice Cross ballpoint pen, Fossil sunglasses and a Fossil watch. It was a fossil Christmas haha. He's so good to me. He also got Fossil sunglasses and a fossil watch but he also got a Fossil passport holder for Mexico and a bunch of tools. I had my friend Matt build Tony some workbenches for the garage. He was so excited and Matt really did a GREAT job on them. We went to my parents after breakfast and celebrated with them. We got a lot of great things there too. I got a double broiler and a steamer! Funny how I get excited over different things now. Oh we also got a carpet cleaner from my grandma.

We went to see Marley & Me on Christmas. It was so good but by far the funniest, saddest movie I've ever seen. We really had a great first Christmas together. I enjoyed having a few extra days off and spending all of them with Tony. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed time with family! I know we did.
Here are some pictures from the week...

It's hot, it's cold...

The weather here cannot make up its mind on whether it wants to be cold or hot. One day it's in the 30s and 40s and then the next it's in the 70s fast approaching 80. It's no wonder that we are all sick! Today is a prime example. Yesterday it was brisk outside, maybe 50 and felt a bit more like the holidays - mind you that Saturday it was 80. Today we have a high of 36 and it will most likely freeze this evening. Tomorrow it's in the 50-60s (30 degree jump) and then Wednesday and Thursday are in the 70's - 70's for Christmas! Bah hum bug. I guess that's good ol Texas weather for ya. I just wish it would be remotely chilly or even just cool on Christmas. Not only does it make it feel more like the holidays, but I have some cute Christmas shirts that are long sleeve that I was planning to wear and now can't! I like bundling up for the few cold days we have. Like today I have on nice warm socks and my black leather zip up boots with jeans, a black long sleeve shirt and a bright red pashmina. Too cute right? Ugh oh well I guess. Maybe that's why I've been sick for almost a month with this darn sinus infection (went to the doc Friday and got some antibiotics).

Well this weekend was great! A bit too short but it was great. Friday we went to the doc for me and then met Matt and Bailey at our fav mexican joint, Celayas and then we went home and curled up together and watched a movie. Saturday I went shopping with Bailey and finished up Tony's stocking as well as getting a few more things I wanted with my bonus money. I got some new jeans and some new heels for work and play. Soo cute and so many good sales going on. (*After bonus I went to the mall and got a few new things for work and this fabulous black leather Fossil purse from Dillards and a new wallet - I love them!!)

Then Saturday afternoon we went to the Toyota Center to watch the Aggies "beat the hell outta LSU" - Matt's brother plays for A&M. It was a lot of fun~We also went to eat at our fav pizza restaurant Collina's in Houston.

Yesterday we slept in and watched tv most of the morning. We ran to the grocery store, I made some dessert and Bebo came over to celebrate Christmas with us. We had turkey, candied yams, some stuffing we won't talk about and then my wonderful cookies and cream dessert I made. We had a lot of fun with Bebo. She gave Tony a table saw and I got some cute sweater dresses and a bright red pashmina (the one I'm wearing). Then we also got some really pretty angels, some flameless scented candles with crystal holders, a carpet spot cleaner and a big push carpet cleaner!!! We were both super excited about it! Tony put it together right away hahahaha.

Last night I was crazy! I made like 6 pairs of earrings - as gifts for people and then they turned out so cute that I had to make some for myself too!! Then one of the pairs of earrings I made....I made a necklace to match. Then I saw these other beads that I've been dying to make a necklace with and found some filler beads for it so I made that too. I will post pictures later. THEN I wrapped pretty much all of our gifts. I felt super productive.

Well more tomorrow. I should really get working. 2 days till Christmas!

Baby it's cold outside!

Brrrr. It's cold outside here and I'm LOVING it! I love a brisk cold morning where I can wear my pea coat and scarf. It really makes it feel like the holidays. Well I felt it had been way too long since I last wrote, so here's a new entry.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Both of our families got together and had a nice little holiday. It was nice to have a few extra days off as work has been really crazy for both Tony and I. However, Tony brought home a little cold from school so we were both sickly. I ended up staying home from work Monday because I was still feeling pretty bad. We're both on the up so that's good.

We put up our Christmas deorations last Friday and put up Christmas lights on the house too. It was our first year to be able to do that so it was fun. We've got our Christmas picture taken (the very large picture in my header) and the cards addressed and ready to go. I feel a little more organized this year. I just love Christmas. It's such a fun time of year. We've have about all of our Christmas shopping done - we have Tony's Secret Santa gift for my family to get and we have to get one more thing for each of our dad's. I have pretty much all of the jewelry made that I'm going to make so I definitely feel better about that. I just have to start wrapping gifts.

We have Tony's work Christmas party today and Matt and Bailey's on Saturday. I hope to get a lot of pictures. It should be fun. We have our commercial group luncheon today at work so I'm looking forward to that as well. We're going to the grove downtown in Discovery Green.

Boudreaux is doing well. He found my stuffed reindeer decoration and has claimed it as his. I heard him playing and went to see what he was doing....he was throwing it up in the air, whipping it side to side...having just so much fun. So he has a new toy that he is totally in love with. Whatever makes him happy. I'll have to get a video or picture of it posted because it's just too funny. He ate an ornament off the tree yesterday but besides that he's been pretty good with all the decorations. He'll run into the tree when he's playing and will knock a few off but oh well.

So I guess that's it for now. Happy holidays to all and Happy Friday!!
