WordFULL Wednesday
{*} Hot diggity darn....this whole give up sweets for Lent thing is killer! I know I've been bitching a lot for something I did to myself, but hey, my blog, my bitching. Guess this means I actually chose something worthwhile this year too! So for the next 22 days I may bitch. Just sayin. I really didn't think I ate a lot of sweets. The occasional everyday mini peppermint patty after lunch and well something after dinner was about all I would indulge in. Well unless there was cake involved somewhere along the way...anyways. Well this is hard. I should now own stock in gum with as many sticks as I've eaten in the last week. I feel like a life-long chain smoker trying to give up nicotine as I chomp furiously at the sweet mint gum in my mouth. nom nom nom. Like a crazed lunatic saying just give me the cupcake and no one gets hurt. I think it's really been blown out of proportion because now that I can't have it, it's all I think about. It is the first week though, so along with my gum, I think it will get better as time goes on. That is unless little Mrs. Lovely keeps rubbing in my face her indulging in brownies covered in frosting {my mouth waters} and all the other decadent things she's enjoying. I told her I'm living vicariously through her the next 22 days, so I ordered her to have a large bowl of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup today :) sounds fair right?
Oh and an update on Hubbs and his Lent progress...{this morning}
Hubbs: "So yesterday people brought in all kinds of yummy stuff to work."
Me: "Oh really? Like what?"
Hubbs: "Like banana bread, kolaches, and donuts {his says "donuts" in this sinister way haha}"
{I eyed him suspiciously...}
Hubbs: "But I was good and I ate everything else but the donuts!"
{immense satisfaction on his face}
Me: "Way to go Hun!"
{Apparently they do learn haha}
{*} Next on the list is a "happy dance" moment. Last week I got this god-awful task from my boss. One of those with so many expectations and requirements that you think to yourself: how on earth am I going to do this? He asked me a few times in the last week how I was progressing. I told him I was searching and asked for some more direction. No luck btw. So yesterday I spent the greater part of the afternoon searching for the unobtainable, the unfindable. I found something that I liked and would work, but that he might not feel so strongly towards. He came again today to check my progress and I showed him the one choice I had so far.
Would you believe he fell in love with it?
Yea me either. It had everything he wanted and more. It was the correct size. It was awesome and I had done good work. It was all I could do to not bust out right there on the spot with my happy dance oh yea uh huh that's right I rock uh huh oh yea, which would have included some crazy jumping around and movement of the arms. The CEO might not approve. So I calmly walked away and once I was out of his sight I broke into my jig.
The best part and some more kudos to hold me over until, well maybe tomorrow from his point of view? I went online to RetailMeNot.com and found a promo code to save the company $250. BOOYAH!! {insert second jig here-uh huh oh yea it's my birthday oh yea}
--I was asked to purchase a wine buffet btw --
Oh yea and guess what? My GIVEAWAY ended!! I wonder who won? Was it you?......
