Prayers for wee ones

I've been waiting and postponing this post as they weren't my words to tell. My heart has ached and my cheeks have been covered in tears.

I feel that I can now share with you an update on my best friend's little babies. I know many of you have taken the button and showered my friend with prayers, so I figured an update was due.

My dear, sweet friend lost her loving Benjamin Ray Walkup on March 5, 2010. I can't tell you or describe to you the pain and sadness I felt in my heart for Bailey, her family, and her son, Ben. No mother should have to endure what she has, but she's done it with amazing grace and led by God's good hand.

Dear little Ben,
Your mother and father were so excited about you. They loved you more than words could say -- your sweet little fingers to your sweet little toes. They showered you in love. We all prayed for you and hoped you would overcome, but the good Lord had another plan for you -- to sit in His arms and watch over your family. You gave the biggest sacrifice by keeping your mother and brother alive. You will live on in our hearts forever.

Bailey,
You are a wonderful mother and a great friend. You have shown courage in the darkest of times. I love you and I am here for you.

Jack is still fighting, but seems to be doing better. You can stay up-to-date by reading Bailey's blog. There's also some really cute updated pictures of little jack on B's blog. Please keep him in your prayers. You go Jack! Keep on fighting buddy. p.s. I think you look like your daddy!!

Please pray for my friend and her family that they find peace in the most troubling of times. Pray they find comfort in knowing their sweet Ben is now in the arms of the Lord, and that baby Jack will continue to fight and get well so he can go home to his momma and daddy.

Love ya B.

I'm extremely sorry. :[ I will keep her and the baby in my prayers. It's because of stories like these that I will be walking in the March of Dimes walk. It's a cause that raises money for premature babies and to help mothers have healthy, full-term pregnancies. I really think it would be a great idea for you to get a bunch of people in your area in honor of Ben.

Oh my goodness this is such devastating news Val. I'm so sorry for your friend and her baby. Just know that he is safe in heaven. A friend of mine kind of went through this same process. Her son was bor premature and was in the hospital for 5 months. He is now 6 months old and weighs 11 pounds but doing great. Sending lots of prayers your and your friends way.

No words could ever express the heart felt sympathy I have for your friend and her family, you as well. I cannot begin to imagine what it is like to lose a child, your right, no mother should ever indure that pain. I continue to pray for everyone involved. Keep fighting little Jack!

I've been thinking about all of you so much...I know how hard it is to see your best friend through such a tragedy. There's no right thing to say or do...nothing that makes it better. But, being there makes it easier.

You'll never have a better friend than the one that sees you through your darkest days.

Much love chica. Talk any time you need to.

oh Valerie... My heart breaks for your friend, and for you. As a mother to a full term still born, I can relate to what your friend is going through. I want YOU to know that being there really does help (just like MyLifeInPurple said!). And be sure to look after you...so that you can look after her.
