20 Questions

Today seemed like a good day to do a questionnaire, so I stole one from Dawn.

1. Fiction or non-fiction?
I really like both of them, but probably fiction just a hair more.


2. How many hours of sleep did you get last night?
5-6 (too little if you ask me)

3. What does it take for you to be happy?
Not much. If I'm spending time with my hubby, hanging with friends, doing something crafty...drinking alcohol. I'm a pretty laid back gal.

4. What is your birthstone?
Emerald!


5. If you could relive a year in your life, what age would it be, and why?
I don't know that I would want to relive a year in my life, but if I had to pick one, I would pink 2008. It's the year I got married and was one of the best years. I had a lot of great things going on and the year was full of excitement. I think the one thing I would change would be to lower my anxiety. 2008 was THE year for anxiety. Sheesh.

6. Go back to three different ages and give yourself some advice.
Age 8: Don't believe everything you hear. Consider the sources
Age 17: You can do it. Don't worry, you will make it.
Age 23: Do only what you can. Don't stress about things out of your control. Anxiety does nothing for you.

7. What sort of people do you think read your blog?
Those who love reading my ramblings of this, that, and the other. Also those who are probably bored :)

8. Which Olympics do you enjoy more: Summer or Winter?
Umm summer because I like gymnastics.

9. Do you use profanity?
Unfortunately yes. I actually almost started this answer with damn. I shouldn't, but I do. But at least they are fairly common ones...right?

10. What is your opinion of snow?
It's really pretty. I lived up North for a few years when I was little and I LOVED the snow. I was in 3-7th grade so all I did was play in it. Now that I'm back in the land of the South where it's tropical almost all year long and I think freezing is in the 50's I'm pretty sure I like snow mostly at a distance. It "snowed" here a few times this past winter and it was exciting, but it turns my part of the world into a panic-driven mania of "Oh my god the world is going to end. It's snowing in Southeast Texas. DO NOT DRIVE. You will crash. All bridges have iced over. Grab enough food for the winter...It's the apocalypse!!" People go crazy here when the "s-word" is said.

11. Do you know which was is east, right now?
I work off of a road that kinda runs East to West, but also North and South, but is labeled North and South...strange now that I think about it. But yes...for once I could probably tell you which was was East. Or which general way you could find East.

12. When is the first time you can recall being proud of yourself?
Hmm. That's a good one. I guess when I won runner-up in a beauty pageant.

13. Do you carve a pumpkin for Halloween?
I have before, but not in recent years.


14. When you are getting ready to leave your home, what are three things you always do?
Lights are off, pillows on sofa are overturned so the dog can't get up there, KEYS!


15. Can you whistle?
Yup!

16. What is your state "known" for?
Hot. Humid. Cactus. Rodeo. Wild West. 10 Gallon Hats. Cowboys.Y'all. Alamo.

17. Where were you when you learned Ronald Reagan was shot?
Umm...I'm honestly not sure. I don't even know if I was alive! Hold on one minute while I Wiki this...Yup. I am correct. He was shot in 1981. I wasn't even thought of yet :)

18. Have you had the chicken pox?
Yup. I think I got them in 3rd or 4th grade from my little brother. They were awful!


19. What is your favorite precious or semi-precious stone?
Love rubies and emeralds. Peridot is really pretty and that light blue stone...aquamarine (yes I used Google to get my answer)


20. You need to go up two floors in a building. Do you use the stairs or the elevator?
Well it depends. If it's an office building I will probably use the elevator because I most likely have no idea where I'm going. Now, if the stairs are clearly marked and I know where I'm going, I have absolutely no problem with the stairs. Here in my office building I find it odd when people go from one to two and two to three. In that case I would certainly use the stairs.

Wednesday...really?

Today did NOT start out on a good foot.

I could not get out of bed for ANYTHING. I snoozed twice and then finally rolled out of bed. I didn't even fix my hair! I pulled it into a ponytail and said DONE.

I did manage to iron my clothes though :)

I'm going to Taylor Swift's concert tonight. I could not find A SINGLE THING to potentially wear tonight. In my way too full closet I had nothing to wear.

I ate breakfast on time for once but ended up just sitting at the table talking to hubby, therefore making me late. I scrambled to get my things together and run out the door. Love ya Hubbs!

I get down the road, look down, and realize I left my lunch on the table. Damn. I'm going to the concert tonight and out to dinner, so I didn't want to just buy lunch at work. My lunchbag also had all my snack for the day including my pita chips and girl scout cookies. Needless to say I turned around. I wouldn't have forgotten my lunch today because I was initially scheduled to have lunch with a friend. I forgot about our lunch and scheduled lunch with another friend. I remembered the double booking and told the second one I couldn't as I had made a mistake. 30 minutes later my first lunch canceled leaving me with no lunch altogether. Did you get all that?

I got my lunch, scared hubby because he didn't hear me come in, and got back on the road. I'm 10 minutes down the road and Hubby calls.

Him: "I'm going to tell you something and you're going to be really pissed."
Me: "Great. What?"
Him: "Your cowboy boots are sitting here on the floor."
Me: "GD!!"

Thankfully I have a really sweet, sweet husband that is going to bring them to me after work so I can look super cute at the Taylor Swift concert tonight. I apparently owe him. Yes, yes honey. I owe you big time. LOVE!

I'm feeling stressed that my morning has been so hectic, but I manage to calm myself. I have a hefty to-do list today and no time to freak out. I'm walking into work when I pass the deli, which makes me think of my yummy Mexican casserole in my lunchbag and how I'm going to really enjoy my lunch while cracking open Twilight for the 3rd time in preparation for Eclipse. Book. Book. Dammit. I forgot the darn book. No Twilight for me. Ugh.

My head is so not together today. I have, however, managed to be pretty productive at work today. I've been creating specific versions of our corporate profile. It's a bit hectic and stressful, but like a big puzzle at the same time. I need to redo the original one, again, but at least I'm getting somewhere. Hopefully I won't forget something at work. {Knock on wood}
