Friday night I went to my Mom's birthday party and actually had a good time! My little brother was there and it was so nice to hang out with him. The food was good and the company was interesting, as always.

Saturday I relaxed on the sofa until
B came over and then we crafted all day and into the night. It's always so nice to hang out with her. She got a lot more done than me :) I spent a few hours cutting and putting together flowers to make my felted flower necklaces for our show this coming weekend. Then I had bought some fabric to make myself a Fall purse and decided to give that a try.
GIANT FAIL. OMG it was seriously the worst bag ever. Well first problem was that I wanted to do a recessed zipper...which I have NO IDEA how to do. Like at all. I looked up some tutorials, but didn't really find what I was looking for, so I decided to go rogue. Bad idea. I got the whole bag done, turned it right side out and realized that my top pieces weren't sewn together and that to do that, I would have to take the whole bag a part. Not to mention I'd already broken a needle by this point.
I tossed it aside and called it a night. Sunday I cut the zipper off and just went for a simple tote. Problem after problem occurred and finally...FINALLY I had a finished product. It was seriously like the bag from hell. Or Marshall's Law rather. But it's done...it's cute...it's functional...and it's very Fall-like.
Sunday was Halloween and hubby and I sat outside to hand out candy. It was actually cool outside and we decided to take advantage of it.
We had a lot of fun sitting out there and talking. We were, however, a bit agitated with some of our trick-or-treaters...in comes the candy system:
* If you bring your infant (who can't talk by the way) to trick-or-treat
you get one piece of candy. Really? Your infant?? We both know good and well your infant can't eat that candy. If you want candy, why don't you go buy it yourself? I just don't see how you push your stroller up to me with a bag on the end for candy, while your infant chews on the plastic tray staring at me, while you say nothing. Umm Happy Halloween?
* If you show up sans Halloween costume
you get two pieces of candy. Mostly because I'm nice. Seriously, it's Halloween. How do you not dress up?? I understand if you can't afford a costume for your kid, but can't you let them play with some craft paint and an old t-shirt? Wear a sports team shirt and paint black lines on your face. Do
something. Don't just show up with your regular clothes and a Wal-Mart bag.
We saw this one kid come up, looked like he had on regular clothes, but he had a sign taped on his shirt that said "nudist on strike." Now that's creativity! We laughed for a good few minutes at that kid.
Oh and if you show up with no costume, no bag and just hold your handy out for candy, I will be tempted to tell you no. I am nice though and gave him some, but really...come on!
Additionally, don't walk up to me and say "yo you got candy?" I will tell you "no, I'm just holding a bowl of it for nothing." {shithead}
* If you show up with a Halloween costume
you get three pieces of candy. I love seeing all the costumes and I appreciate the effort. I especially loved the brother where one was a SWAT guy and one was a convict! So cute! Or the other two brothers who were Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Totally adorable.
* If you show up with a stand-out, rockin Halloween costume
you get four pieces of candy. I just love creativity and the people who really go all out. I think it's awesome and like to reward you!!
We have lots of kids come by for trick-or-treating, so we have to be mindful of how much we give out or we'll be empty in an hour (like last year). I just couldn't believe some of the people this year. So crazy. Especially the little turds who were like "ugh...only 3 pieces?" Listen turd...I was nice enough to buy candy
and give you some. There's a whole neighborhood for you to hit up. Chillax yo.
{end of rant}
Hope everyone had a great Halloween :)
