Babymoon
Saturday Hubby and I celebrated our babymoon!
It was so amazing. Saturday morning we slept in, made breakfast, watched a movie and then got to packing. We dropped the pups off at his parent's house and headed to Houston.
When we pulled up to the hotel there were fire trucks and all sorts of emergency personnel. Apparently the hotel was evacuated and we couldn't check in yet. We decided to go drive around for a little while instead of sitting outside the hotel. An hour later we could finally check in.

We snooped around the hotel checking everything out, including the rooftop terrace, which was really cool. There were amazing views of downtown Houston.

{37 weeks!!}
We still had a few hours until our dinner reservation, so we went back to the room to relax. I took a nap snuggled in all the fluffy pillows while hubby watched TV. Sounds a bit lame perhaps, but it was great...just relaxing with not a care in the world - as long as we were near one another :) We had a great view from our room too!
Then we got all fancied up for dinner at our favorite restaurant downtown, Vic & Anthony's. The food there is amazing - truly the best I've ever had. I had filet mignon topped with lump crab meat and sauce. Then we shared golden mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus. For dessert we had the Texas Pecan Ball, which is vanilla ice cream, rolled in pecans, then drizzled with caramel. AH-MAZE-ING!! I love eating there because a dinner takes close to 2.5 hours. There's plenty of time between courses, which allows you to enjoy what you've just eaten. We had great conversation and of course enjoyed people watching.

After dinner, we had a lovely stroll back to the hotel under the sparkling lights of downtown. Once back to the hotel, we went back to the roof top terrace to see downtown at night. It was so relaxing.

Sunday morning we slept in and then went to breakfast at the hotel. Since we stayed on the executive floor, we got free breakfast {score!}. And it was SOOO good. We were piggies. I had cereal, a bagel, AND fruit! We had an awesome view from our breakfast table.

After breakfast we checked out and went to hang out and walk around Discovery Green. We got a milkshake and lemonades while we walked around and took pictures.

There was supposed to be a Farmer's Market, but it didn't really seem like a lot of people showed up, perhaps because of the holiday, so we decided to head out. Sunday was also my husband's birthday! We ended the day celebrating with his family.
We had such a wonderful time together. I am so lucky to be married to my husband - he's an amazing guy. We are so excited to bring this little girl into the world and be the best parents we can be. We love each other immensely and hope that sets a good example for her. We are so very blessed.
Lexie - you now have the green light to come whenever you wish. Mommy and Daddy got their special weekend - thanks!
