My nookcolor
I got a nookcolor last month as an early birthday present and I LOVE IT!
I wasn't sure how I would like reading books digitally versus actually having the book in my hand, but I don't mind it. I love a fresh book with a solid spine...cracking those first pages...the smell of a new book...All of those things I thought I'd miss by having an e-reader, but surprisingly enough, I really love reading digitally. I think I read quicker too, which I've heard some people feel they read slower.
Plus the convenience factor is awesome. Typically I would buy all my books through Amazon. I'd get $25 worth of books in my cart and then check out. Every once in awhile I would go to Half Price Books, but mainly I'd buy them online.
Now with my nook, when there's a book I want, I can browse for it, buy it, and download it right then and there. Within seconds I have a new book to read and that, my friends, rocks. Now I have to be more mindful of what I'm spending, but it's still totally awesome.
As long as I have an internet connection, I can browse the web too. There's games and even downloadable apps for it. One reason I really wanted the nook color, besides being able to have color, is that you can download children's books that can be read aloud to the kids! Way cool.
I also love that I can get the nook app on my iPhone, so if I happen to forget my nook at home, I can still read whatever books are in my library on the go. Great for lunch breaks and doctor's waiting rooms! It's also great for reading in bed - no bedside lamp needed :)
The battery life on this is a lot better than I expected too. I read a lot of the weekend in my spare time and all through my lunch break today and I still don't need to charge it. I highly recommend this bad boy if you're in the market for an e-reader!
Well you know if I had something like an e-reader that I would need something CUTE to keep it in. And we all know I wouldn't buy one...
So I give you my nook carrier
I lined it with minky so my screen is protected. It's so convenient and it keeps my nook safe. I made it at the beginning of last month when I first got it. (Before I put up my sewing machine.) Love!
Do you have an e-reader?

I've debated on getting a Nook, because like you, I love the feel of the actual books! However, this post definitely made me rethink my decision!
I love the cute carrier too! You should definitely think about selling those :)
I have a kindle that I got for my birthday in december and I love it!! My battery generally last for 2 to 4 weeks when I heavily use it. It makes traveling much easier because you don't have to lug books around everywhere. I still read regular books sometimes, but my sister and mother and I share kindle books easily.
I have the nook color too!! and like you I love it!!!
I recieved the nook color as a christmas raffle prize this last christmas. It came with a 50$ giftcard which was awesome!
I'm still not sure I would have spent the money to buy myself this but now that I have it I love it!
The new update with the Apps makes it that much better! I do wish it would play movies but mabye they will come out with one that does. Or even better an update that lets our current reader play movies.
I don't have an actual NOOK but I do have the Nook App on my iPhone. I also downloaded the PC version on my work computer. Which became a serious addiction last year. I read practically all day, while at work. Which is why I didn't blog for a long time. I was so distracted with reading on Nook.
Be careful. It is very addicting and becomes very expensive!!
Let me know if you want a list of inexpensive books I downloaded from Barnes & Noble for Nook.
PS. Love love love your Nook Carrier!
My hubs got me the Nook color for Christmas- it was the ONLY thing I asked for and I LOVE it! :) I LOVE being able to get books in seconds, subscribe to magazines, and not have all of that take up space in the house. I love your case too!
UMM did you know that i have one.. as does Sarah? i see some serious book sharing going on!
